Pullet with attitude and a comb that changes colors!

Every one goes through learning curves, even if well prepared before the first birds.

Part of the enjoyment is raising them from day olds, which I must say you're doing well- the chicks look great.

For pictures, try for more like above plus a full side body shot like the first picture through the wire. That picture really shows off his color patterning and masculine body type. EE frequently can be sexed early on due to feather patterning differences.

Update on Zena: Over the last few weeks she has become by far the largest of the group. Yesterday I saw her try to step on top of Hortense.... but when Hortense objected Zena did not pursue it. Then this morning, all innocence was destroyed. As I approached their coop, I hear a soft crow. Before I could even start to rationalize it, I hear another. Then when I let them out to play, I saw Zena mount Agnes. So you guys were right (of course) when you called it long ago.

I tried to think of whether Kaitlyn would be pronounceable once you spelled it backwards, but I'll just leave the name as is. None of the girls has laid yet, but the two that Zena has shown interest in, are a week or more older than the others, and have redder combs than the rest.

Sort of surprised I got my first CROW before my first EGG but I guess this means I won't be waiting much longer for some eggs.
