Hello everyone!
Been a few years since I've had chickens and been on here.
So today I got 6 pullets that are fully feathered out and I'd say about 1/2 grown. 4 barred rocks and 2 buff orpingtons.
So here is the issue. One of the barred rocks has a problem with the outside toe on each foot. Those toes bend sideways and backwards. The chicken can move to toe and bend it further back and curl it but it does not go back straight. So far it does not appear to affect the mobility on the pullet, but I'm concerned it may become an issue. I have read about correcting similar issues but they are dealing with much younger chicks.
Is there anything I can do? Is it just a genetic defect? (the are TS chicks) None of the other chicks show any sign of issue.
Thank you!
