Hello everyone!
Been a few years since I've had chickens and been on here.
So today I got 6 pullets that are fully feathered out and I'd say about 1/2 grown. 4 barred rocks and 2 buff orpingtons.

So here is the issue. One of the barred rocks has a problem with the outside toe on each foot. Those toes bend sideways and backwards. The chicken can move to toe and bend it further back and curl it but it does not go back straight. So far it does not appear to affect the mobility on the pullet, but I'm concerned it may become an issue. I have read about correcting similar issues but they are dealing with much younger chicks.
Is there anything I can do? Is it just a genetic defect? (the are TS chicks) None of the other chicks show any sign of issue.

Thank you!

Thats weird. Can we see a picture? It's probably too late to do anything now, the toes are already set.

The pics I promised and a few more for fun.

At this point in the game, I doubt that the toe can be corrected. Keep an eye on her feet so that the toenail does not irritate the back of her leg/foot.
