Purina Layena

Usually, Purina feed is a decent quality product, however, I no longer use it due to its lack of animal protein. *except on occasion, I do get some of their Game Bird Flight Conditioner, which is a grower, to use for older chicks. It does still contain animal protein.

I used to feed them FRM layer crumbles but I got no eggs more due to too young then I switched to FRM Game Grower and all started laying eggs (mostly all not sure on one) I get 4 eggs a day from 5 pullets. But a couple got diarhea so I just got them a bag of Layena crumbles and so far they like it!

I will let you know if egg production goes down.

As for protein - I was told that if helps get birds to lay eggs if younger and helps with molt and feather production - mine all started laying within a week of feeding them game grower feed but it could also have been they were ready to start laying.
