Purple Peafowl

What would happen if you bred a Blue split to purple cock x IB peahen? Could you get purples. What about IB cock x Purple hen? I found somebody with Purples but hens only no Purple male.

@q8peafowl - Thank you so much for that, the photos will be really helpful on the Image Database!

It looks like that IB in the photos has a white throat latch? Is he split to white?
(I just want to make sure I label them correctly)

Othman, he is SO handsome!

Have you decided whether he is black shoulder or split black shoulder, or just still growing feathers?

I think that is a Cameo Pied or maybe Cameo Silver Pied.

I would like to know if it is a throat 'latch' or 'patch'? I have seen it both ways and I don't know for sure.

A throat latch is a place on the neck where it goes into the underside of the animal's head. A patch is an area. So I would call it a throat patch myself, but I can't say that throat latch is incorrect, since it the same area. Throat latch may be more accurate since it precisely identifies the location, but it doesn't say anything about the size of the white patch, which as we have seen, varies widely

You are welcome, yes, he is split to white.

Oh, sorry, I meant this guy:

I don't really know the difference between "latch" and "patch"...

Thanks for the confirmation, @q8peafowl !

IB peacock split purple x IB peahen = All males offspring will be india blue, half the daughters will be india blue and half purple.

IB cock x purple hen= all males will be india blue split purple, and all the hens will be IB.

Its better to start with purple male.
