Purportedly Black Star???

I was told these are Black Star by the person I took them from. I have my doubts. The little one with a topknot looks like a cross, both have black feathers that are iridescent green in the sun. Any ideas? They are over a year old. They have the most lovely large, dark eyes!

Red comb & wattles on left is a Black Australorp.

The other looks like a silkie cross, with her dark skin, crest and feathered shanks. Probably crossed with BA.

Thanks! The australorp makes the most sense to me. Silkie/BA cross sounds right for Emma. Wonder if I could get her to go broody?

Haha...you can't make a hen go broody, but if you leave some eggs in the nest for a while it might help.

Emma has pale skin under her feathers, 5 toes, black floppy comb, wattles, and beak. Here is a better picture of her.

She's a silkie X. I said that because of the crest, feathered shanks, dark skin, body shape and now the five toes confirm it.
