i got the idea from another post on the forum who made a pvc waterer.

material list

8 feet of 3" abs pipe
2 'y' fittings
2 45 degree elbows
3 3" caps
1 3" plywood plug

i used wood screws to hold it together so i can take it apart if i need to clean it.
also the plug is a snug fit made out of plywood so if there is a clog in the pipe i can remove it.

this is where the food is put it. cut the hole with a holesaw, then widened it with a sawsall and roofing tar to seal it.

this is the 1st tier, used a sawsall to cut the top of the pipe

this is the bottom tier, same setup

I have 9 hens right now, and there hasnt been any compitition for feed yet. If you want to increase the feeding space you can increase the length of the bottom piece of pipe, however if you make it too long the feed will not reach it and it will not do anything. or you can use double 'y' fittings and have a second feed trough on the other side.

this is the double 'y' fitting.

so you would end up with something like this
