Putting eggs in the bator on July 25, does anyone wanna hatch along???

LOL! Well, we'll see. I've already got to thin the flock with what I've got now, so I'm going to think about it a bit first!

Hee! No, I'd already added the ones I got today in before I said "no more!" Although I did have to slap my hands a few times to keep myself from ordering just one..more..breed, lol! The ones I got today were all hatched yesterday, so they're the same age as my hatchlings. (Day-old hatchlings, pre-sexed, are cheaper at Meyer than eggs -- at least if you don't have to have them shipped. Go figure!) However, seeing them next to my marans/rock mutts confirms what I suspected -- that was, for some reason, a VERY vigorous cross! My mutts are half again as big as the hatchery babies, even though their parents were both Meyer Hatchery stock. They're huge!

Gonna take some more pictures with today's babies, I'll post some later to show you. One speckled sussex, two australorps, two columbian wyandottes, two silver laced wyandottes, and one NH red roo to go with my five mutts It's going to be a pretty colorful flock!

Oh cool, I thought you had ordered some more eggs. So I was thinking you could hatch along. Isn't the Speckled Sussex a beautiful baby. I have never had one before and every time I look at them I can't believe just how pretty they are. Mine look like auburn brown chipmunks. LOL!!!! I can't wait to see your pics.

Woo hoo, its definitely a go she is shipping me some more fertile Birchen Maran/ Tolbunts and some Olive eggers next week.

At the moment just pets. My friend down the road had a friend of hers give her a bunch of quail and she's been soling me with the eggs for my new incubator
