I like the look of the lavender opinions also the blue Andalusian, but most of my chickens should have a job add in laying and for eating, but with small children coming and going, a mild temperament is a must, now if I can incorporate looks into this I'm all in.

Hi there!

You might want to join us over at the "Setting the week of August 22nd" thread. We have moved there, since this thread was for our July clutches >.>

I am not addicted. *denies everything*

Come on over! We need more hatching buddies there!

Right now I'm raising the quail for eggs and will probably eat and sell some. They are pretty cute as pets too.

Edit: this was in response to dandydoodle's question on what I'm raising quail for, not sure why that quote didnt show up. Oh well, figured I would clarify since this seemed like a totally random response otherwise, lol

Okay this hatch so far started with ten quail eggs, two were infertile, one quitter, and one under developed chick (not sure why it was so under developed) the other seven are looking good, curly is still having terrible with it's legs and is using the wall for support.I'm wondering if it's leg problems had anything to do with it's cracked shell while developing or because I had to do an assist hatch.

I have read that a lot of chicks from assisted hatches have leg problems simply because they don't get that chance to push against the egg and strengthen their legs before they pop out into the world
