Hello, all. About 35 years ago my family raised rabbits in a barn. The cages had nipple waterers along a PVC pipe. I was 8-10 years old during those years, so I wasn't paying real close attention; but they were nipple waterers in PVC. Fast forward to present day; the "rabbit barn" has been cleaned out three times in recent years and now straw has been strewn about for bedding for goats. But...I found a PVC fitting which looks like a clip-on fitting (about 270 degrees of a cylinder) with a TEE threaded fitting for 1/8" pipe thread like we used when I was a kid. Now I have piles of chickens and I'd like to use a similar setup to the rabbit waterers of yesteryear. I have about 30 nipples (newly bought) but I can't find these snap-on TEE fittings with the threaded holes at 1/8".

Can someone please tell me what these things are called or provide a link or other information to help me find if they are still made and available? Searching for relevant terms (Bing) seems to get me a pile of mismashed results which don't coincide at: 1/8" pipe thread TEES which snap onto PVC pipe.

I'm tired of cleaning founts and filling the buckets into which I've threaded some of the nipples.

Thank you.

Pictures would be a big help...

Yes. I'm sorry. I'm in MA visiting for the holidays and my sole piece is in TX. :( I thought about that the whole time I wrote the post. Lemme see if I can rectify that....

That's not the exact thing I'm looking for (obviously). What I have back home is a TEE to fit on 1/2 inch PVC and has a 1/8" pipe thread female fitting for the nipples.

Thank you.

While visiting my mother in Massachusetts with my son, our house in Texas burned down. My wife was at work. Two cats, including my 6 year-old son's beloved pet, died. Our big cabinet incubator (new) with only about 30 eggs (some pipping) were destroyed. It sucks. We've been busy. Anyway, sorry for the delay, I am finally posting a picture of the saddle Tees we had from 37 years ago. This is what I found in the old rabbit barn (amazing what having livestock literally unearths). For now, I'm going with the thread-in style nipples (seen threaded into this saddle Tee) screwed directly into 3/4" PVC pipe; we'll see if they seal up. I have the correct NPT tap, so it's not a big deal, but it's not a secure (leak-tight) as this saddle tee and it's not as convenient.

Thanks for the help and replies.

I tried drilling and tapping 1/2" PVC pipe for the 1/8" nipples and they wouldn't seal. I believe if tapping directly into the pipe (without a tee) you need to use at least 1" pipe, otherwise the small radius of the pipe is too severe for tapping a sealable fitting.

I am on my phone, please forgive my brief response. I agree re radius. However, I short-threaded the holes so I'm hoping the tight fit will seal. I may be optimistic. We'll see.
