Quail and the snow

hello everyone!

My quail live in the garage during the winter. My garage is insulated but I still get nervous about them lol! (as any father would!). Anyways its currently 26F.

Do I need to get them a heat light?

i do not bring my adult quail inside nor add supplemental heat unless temps go below zero or stay in the 20s for an extended period of time. i had several days last winter that water froze overnight but the quailies did just fine!! as long as they are relatively draft-free and dry (inside insulated garage) and have fresh food and water available.....they should be fine at your current temps!! issues typically occur more often is there is a drastic change in temperatures and or they get wet and cannot warm up before temps drop below freezing.

Are they New World or Old World quail?
Bobwhites and Mountain quail don't have a problem with cold.
Coturnix and button quail are a different story.
