We are new to the quail adventure.

hatched some jumbo brown 10 days ago and was wondering if these are really jumbo.

The largest chick at 10 days weighs 83 grams down to 65 the smallest one.

We paid outrages for the eggs but after seeing the few birds this man had in his basement we were amazed that 3 of his hens tipped the scales at over 20 ounces.

Question is, are these good weights for this young of birds?

Thanks for any info this is our first adventure.

I have no experience with jumbos but someone in my country has got his up to 300g live slaughter weight and he expects his birds to weigh about 200g by 35 days old. So sounds like yours are headed in the right direction weight wise.

Here is the weight gain that I use for my birds (jumbo). For more info search "Tatanka breeder's club" in these forums - much more useful information.

14 days ~80g
21 days ~130g
28 days ~200g
42 days = 280g+

thank you all for the info. put the largest one on the scale tonight day 13 and she was 112 grams, an even 4 ounces.
tomorrow will make a vidio of it and try to post it here with the 14 day weight. Was not sure of the mail scale I use for ebay so got a new one today and it weighs the same as the postal scale does.
Thanks again
