The top three contestants get 100 quail's eggs each!

The contest ends 8/04! You still have time and I am sure if you win Robby(awesome guy) can do something for you about the shipping date.

These are great showing them to hubby for his next project, I would post mine but right now I am just using an old dog crate with hardware cloth wrapped around it,,,,such a pain cause I have to push everyone to the back of the cage when I open the door.

Building my quail pen now! Should have ready by the deadline.....but I am not getting any help from DH so taking longer to build. :) Will post the finished photos soon.

It's ok if not qualified but it is not a purchased coup it is a converted plastic playhouse. I have the foundation done now and the raised floor inside and will be adding the run this weekend I hope.

This coop was made for about 40.00 dollars, as we used a ton of free/recycled materials. It was a blast to build, my 2 year old helped me.

It has a locking door in the front which allows me to reach both corners of the coop. It also has a access hatch in the roof which opens up. It may not be the prettiest, but my daughter says its pretty

. Its super sturdy, I can sit in it and I'm sure i weigh more than the 10 quail.
Its fits in great with our yard, which consists of a massive container veggie garden, a large raised bed veggie garden and a six hole californian rabbit system.
The girls obviously like it as well. I moved them in yesterday and found these tonight.

Working With
All it takes are two hands and a plan.

Found these metal tables from a factory that had closed down, 2 rolls of 1/2x1/2 wire and 40 dollars worth of screws. Total cost is about $225.00, with wire being $ 81.00 a roll, adds up quick, they are 44" wide, 27 foot long and 40" high.

This pens total cost was at about $200, and that is with buying everything brand new. Floor plan is 3 feet X 8 feet, and you have both the option of having either 2- 12 square foot pens or 1- 24 square foot pens. The divider opens back and to the right and is held in place flush to the back with a hook and eye setup. There is also flood light fixtures mounted in each cage so light can be cut on in there if neccesary such as for new chicks coming into the pen. Currently I have my cherished recently acquired mountain quail living on the right side, and some chukars on the right side. Within a week or so, the Chukars will be relocated and the entire pen will then be opened up to the MQ's.
