So did any one finally build one of these?

im planing on building one out of fax plastic tubes like these one:
this is the tubes with the copy paper whens they ares used out you get the white tube.


i know nowadays is hard to find these things, but i save a couple of them a few years back knewing that they will work for something.

any ideas??
