Today is day 1 in the brooder for the quail. It is also day 15 for the second batch and day 8 for the third. I candled and removed 8 eggs that stopped developing, died early on etc... . (There is 22 eggs left) I will send pics of the baby quail in a bit.

You were right! They all hatched. I got a 100% hatch rate.

They are the cutest lil thangs. So tiny, their like lil puffy pom poms.

Are they using the heat plate....I mean besides standing on it, are they getting underneath it? It looks a little too low?

I'm no expert when it comes to using a heat plate! The temp should be in the range of 90° to 95° for the first week.
The new world quail require a little more heat than Coturnix quail do....Idk why! but they will do better if you reduce the heat by 5°F per week until they are fully feathered or the ambient temperature is 70°F or above.

Sorry I didn't post today. Anyway, today is day 16 for the 2nd batch and day 9 for the third batch. Today was good besides a quick drop of humidity all the down to 20 percent for about an hour. I don't think it will affect them much though. The chicks are as cute as ever. They are all doing good.
