Quail In Birds Cage?

We have two button quails that are about 5 weeks old in a finches cage. We have newspaper as the ground and I was wondering if this is right or if we should get some of the shaving/bedding stuff? Thank You

Newpaper can get slippery and does not absorb liquid well. i use shavings from my local TS or feed store. They come in a huge cube for $4 much more practical than the little bags they sell at walmart in the pet section
