Maybe you can order some online? The stores around me only sell chicken and pigeon supplies. I have to order everything online.

Maybe he is just a late bloomer, some males struggle with figuring out how to mate with the hens. I am sure he will get there eventually. Are the hens laying down for him? My rooster and his hen are siblings, never kept him from mating with her.

I hope so, he will figure out how to mate.

You said she went broody I've heard that they never Go broody.
Did she hatch any eggs?
I am interested to know that.

Yes, she did go broody. She sat on 12 eggs and hatched out 10. Not all the chicks ended up surviving, but she was a very good and protective mother.

I incubated the eggs for 3 days and broke them to see if there was any embryo formed. Hopefully there was an embryo inside only one egg. So it means my quail are mating without being noticed....☺☺ I am so happy. Well the quails were not at all interested in the eggs that i put in their cage. But now i have hope. I can hatch my own eggs

I have three double-yolker eggs in the incubator right now. We'll see what happens

What do you do to make them go broody???
And what is her age???

I think her mate (who's incubating the eggs too) is the one who makes them broody. She is actually in a pair which I think probably helps too. Her mate (who was my previous broody mama's mate) was parent raised and loves building nests.

I have no idea of her age or history because she was a rescue quail.
