Does anyone know if I can give her half a baby aspirin in some water, in case the panting is a fever? That is, if I can get her to drink water. I've been giving it to her in a dropper, but atm she is clamping her mouth shut.

Yes, You can give her an entire baby aspirin. (Baby only)Does anyone know if I can give her half a baby aspirin in some water, in case the panting is a fever? That is, if I can get her to drink water. I've been giving it to her in a dropper, but atm she is clamping her mouth shut.
Thanks. I'll try that. I just got her to drink a little water. Also, we compared her abdomen to her sister's and they feel pretty much the same, except everything about Queen V seems emptier, thinner and lighter. I wish I would have brought her in a couple days ago. Will she eat a raisin? I usually shove a baby aspirin in a raisin and they gobble it down. Even a blueberry works well.

I'll look for that locally tomorrow. I just gave her the baby aspirin in a blueberry, but I had to open her mouth and put it in. She was not interested at all. That's good on the abdomen, she is probably not internally laying or some other sort of Ascites.
Sounds like it's either a yeast or a bacteria, the Copper will also kill off any E.coli and a few other bacteria in the gut.
You guys are awesome!Do you have a good chicken vet?Antibiotics concern me if it's a yeast based problem because they would kill off the bacteria needed to fight yeast. As I read the article @Eggcessive gave me I am more convinced it is vent gleet. When I looked into her mouth thought I could see little white spots, but I couldn't get those to show up on a photo, and we took a dozen of them.
Ugh...I need my veterinarian to call me back and look at this girl.
I did order it, but the earliest it will get here is Monday. I will run into town tomorrow to get vaginal cream and see if TSC or the Farm Store have the copper. Meanwhile I'm using the probiotics. So happy I had that on hand!!!
I'm so worried about her. I don't know if she'll be with us in the morning. i can't believe how fast she is declining right now.
I have a vet and she will see my chicken. I've not needed a chicken vet before. She's an excellent dog and cat vet, so fingers crossed.Do you have a good chicken vet?
