Question for the rubenesque of our female byc

Don't I know the feeling. What kind of bras do you wear? And where do you get them. I have to buy the Playtex front close ones at Belk, a local store and cra p they cost!!

Well to be honest, I just found out that is my true size about a month ago. For about a year I was going crazy trying to buy bras, shopping everywhere and trying every brand and style. I've always bought Playtex too and Walmart has the best price, but not always the biggest selection in my area. Then one day I decided to go to this pricey lingerie shop downtown and be fitted....low and behold, I'm a 40 DDD. No wonder the 40DD's weren't working! It is so frustrating because I cannot afford to buy $80 bras even if they do fit. I'm on the hunt for cheaper ones so if I find them, I'll let you know. Till then, I'm squeezing into the smaller ones and pushing up the cleavage

I tried those bras, and they didn't hold anything up. I mean I don't want boobs up around my neck , but heck, I don't want to be trippin over them either!

Lol ain't that the truth

I will admit I tend to splurge on my bras. I found a style at Victoria Secrets that works for me about 10 years ago, and I hunt high and low to keep a few of that same style in stock. I have changed sizes a few times, from a record high of 38DD, to a low of 36C, I am now at 36D and hoping to keep em in the same hemisphere that they started off in many years ago. Gravity is not kind when you have gone from being a slightly anorexic weight lifting cop with less body fat than a 12 year old boy, to a 190lb, toxemic, pregnant woman. I actually ripped muscles in my abdomen carrying my son, so I will never have a 6 pack again, and after 5 kids, I was resigned to a pony keg, but when I started having blinding migraines and being unable to eat, I was put on a medication that made me barf anything that I tried to eat, so I rapidly acquired the, "Death Camp" look, and dropped to a size 3. I have now managed to stabilize back to a size 5-7, and my chest is back to normal, but my bras now fit weird, and if I dont watch it, I fall out the front! What is it with manufacturers making bras so low cut? I want less of a dip and more of a lift!
I have a heck of a time finding pants, I am 5'1, and I like to stack my jeans, but now they make everything so wide legged that they drag the ground, I have heard of boot cut, but I hate bell bottomed! Clothes right now stink!
For those looking for boots, try the Ariat Fat Baby line, not only do they fit pretty good, they also look decent and they arent too pricey. I have worn out 5 pair of them, and it took me awhile to do it, they are pretty tough.

I get my bras at the same place I shop, www.onestopplus.com or www.jms.com I just going to say Im bigger than a DD and they are hard to find. THey arent cheap but if you get a coupon or sale which they do often it isnt too bad. Sign up for emails and you get coupons all the time. I only have 2 but I got them on sale for $29 each.

I don't shop online because while plus-sized, I'm not built like many women. I have to try on things for them to fit right. When I was skinny I had a boyish figure, now I'm built like some old fart who drinks too much beer....sigh.

Dilliard's has a decent plus department, but if you have any outlet stores near you try Liz Claiborne. The styles cross all lines for Liz Clairborne, which is unusual for plus-sized. Many designers don't want fat girls wearing the cute clothes associated with the brand so the line is different for bigger women. This means if you see something cute with LC label you should be able to find it in a plus size. I don't really like Lane Bryant because much of the clothes are cut wrong for me, and most of it is trendy without being fashionable.

That being said, I'm mostly a shorts and t-shirt kinda gal; 'cause man its hot in Texas.

I just bought some shorts and a skirt at CJ Banks. The store is all size 14 and above. The clothes are a little more J Crewish looking than Lane Bryant. These shorts fit better than anything I've worn in years. I am very happy with the brand. I believe they have a website. Everything seemed to be fairly high quality and not as expensive as Coldwater Creek.

I'm not a huge Lane Bryant fan as I generally don't like their styles, but I have found that their bras as nice. They are pretty and supportive. It's nice to have pretty bras every now and then.

Man! I was a tiny, tiny, child the first time they were popular, and I thanked GOD every single day that I was a small child in the 70's and couldn't be blamed for my choice in clothing during that era. Now, my generation can be blamed for parachute pants and big hair, but I was into Punk rock, so it was ripped jeans and Doc Martens with obscure rock t-shirts for me during that era. I do, however, get to blackmail my sister with some really great pictures of her Cyndi Lauper hair, and that lovely single glove!

Well ladies, I have found a couple of interesting places that I want to add to our collection. Now bear in mind, these are what my mother and grandmother called " Va Va Voooom!!" clothes, personally, I'm glad to see something sexy for those of us that actually have a body.

www swakdesigns com
For bras I ran across this site. I can't vouch for it, but it looked interesting. The link is
www herroom com
There are the smaller sizes there also, but the plus size section looks promising.
www freshpair com also looks decent, these last two sites offer free shipping.

Off to look some more.
Oh, just put a dot (.) where I put spaces, I wasn't sure if I was allowed to post links.
