Question of the Day - Saturday, March 30th, 2024

Hard to say favorites all time, but some really good ones in no particular order:

Shawshank Redemption
Goodfellows
Sleepers
Murder in the First
Legends of the Fall
Casino
Fury
Once Upon a Time in America

Popping into my head today
The Green Mile
The Stand (if counts as movie)
History of the World, Part 1
Shawshank Redemption
Breakfast Club
Blazing Saddles
Nat Lam Vacation
BC Rock

Dang near forgot all about that movie
The Stand was pretty good, but it is hard to enjoy a movie, or mini series, after reading the book. Books are always better than the movies. I think it is mainly because they can't fit in everything that is in the book. And, even what they seem to include they change a good bit, which is disappointing.

Did you read the book? And, what about "The Dark Tower" series? Have you read those? They may have made a movie from it, but if they have I have not watched it. I also don't know if King ever finished the series. I read all that was out years ago, and kept waiting and waiting for him to finish it, but got too busy with life to read books like I used to, so I don't know if he ever finished it.

If I can remember correctly, he actually started that series (the first book which would have been "The Gunslinger") back when he was in college and doing psychedelics. Then, later on he took back to writing the series.
