Question on last eggs: was 12 Perfect little chicks!

Mediazeal, your chicks are precious!!! I have an incubator on the way (Havobater 1602N w/turner) and 24 hatching eggs will be delivered after I get things set up, so hopefully my first endeavor will be as successful as yours! What is the material on the base of the floor in your brooder photo?

I have pine pellets in the brooder.
It's what they use at the feed store so I bought some. Cleans up easily and they can't eat it.

Ok, thanks for sharing your experience.
The little maran roo that hatched is so funny. He's minding his own business but if someone pecks him or steps on him, he lets them know they are out of line. He's seems like he's going to be an awesome little rooster.

I'm in the city and can't have roosters but I found him a farm that has all hens so far and they really want him to live rooster life, not be dinner.

I'm hoping for pullets if I get any more.
