Raccoon Baiting

Whatever you use, make sure the coon can't reach the bait from outside the cage or all your efforts will be for naught. You might even have to enclose the bait end a little bit, especially if this coon has been trapped before.
X2. First time I set mine the coon pulled everything from the side (part of the chicken it killed night before) and dragged the trap through the woods.
@Sunny-Side Up , I put boards on the sides and a big rock on top. Racoon came back that same night. I just used some cooked leftover chicken that time.

Use chicken bones. It's coming up killing them so it should draw it in there. Be careful though. If you have a muddy lawn, put the cage on a platform of some sort or that coon will push the cage down in the mud so the trap won't go off. Seen it happen with my own eyes. Coons are pretty smart.
