Raccoon

I lost two girls last night to a raccoon. I’m absolutely devastated. It was 100% my fault, I accidentally left their door open after putting them away. I put so much time and energy into making sure my girls have everything, are happy and safe, but I failed them this time. I’m the reason they’re dead now.

Anyway, I don’t know what else to do really but reach out to the chicken community. I am so heartbroken I don’t know what to do. How have any of coped with the pain? I know time will help, but right now I’m just hurting so bad.

It's a reminder to never let our guard down.
Rocky will be back. Looking for another meal. Lock up the rest and maybe consider removing the coon.
