That recipe looks extremely similar to the eczema lotion I make for myself. I have chronic eczema and that really does help. I would think it would work for fungal infection. Coconut oil is supposed to be in antifungal and antibacterial and so is Teatree oil. Never tried it for fungal infection but I could see where it would have definite benefits
would this work for any fungal infection???
The recipe suggestion is from Dr. Axes, titled “Eczema Cream.”

Ingredients:

-1/2 cup of raw shea butter

-1/2 cup of coconut oil (optional: ¼ cup olive oil or almond oil)

-1 tablespoon of local honey

- 30 drops of lavender essential oil

- 8 drops of tea tree essential oil

- optional additions: 5 drops of geranium essential oil and/or 5 drops of myrrh essential oil

Raw Shea Butter:

I paid $9.99 at Sprouts for 7 oz. of raw shea butter. There were a couple of options, but I chose Now Solutions Shea Butter. I was confused about measuring the quantity of raw shea butter into a measuring cup. I thought because 4 oz. equaled half a cup, I would use only ½ the container. I was wrong and am probably the only one in the world who didn’t know that fluid ounces are totally different than weight ounces. I used the whole container.

Coconut Oil:

I used refined Organic Refined Coconut Oil.

Local Honey:

Sometimes local honey can be a little bit more expensive, but it is important because it contains immune-stimulating properties that help the body adapt to its local environment.

Lavender Essential Oil:

Luckily, my mother-in-law Sue Hunkins is a distributor for DoTerra essential oils. I was able to go into her stash and handpick every oil I needed. The best part is she has a book that outlines all the benefits of the oils, including which oils are safe for pregnancy. All oils used have been given the thumbs up when diluted with coconut oil.

Tea Tree essential Oil (or what DoTerra calls Melaleuca Oil)

And Geranium Essential Oil

I looked around the new orchard to see where a clump of horseradish might thrive. It is deep rooted, and reminded me of comfrey in that way that it might also pull up nutrients from the deep. Then the huge leaves drop and decay adding to the surface minerals.

I have the one or was it two roots originally in a big pot, but the big pot will not contain this plant. Transplanting at this time might cause issues but I realized over night that keeping it in this too-small pot might kill it anyway.

I plan to look for more horseradish and get it planted. I dont think it is picky about when it gets into the ground as long as it has some time to make leaves and let the cold and frost to tell it to go dormant. Just my thoughts on why Im willing to put a couple chunks in the ground.

If horseradish is better from the market for eating I’ve been reading up on other pretty awesome uses it has where I would like to grow it

I love it with roast beef. There is a cheap cut that is regularly available here in the local market and so one is usually in the freezer. The horseradish is good for cancer prevention, which is why I started looking for a plant, rather than the commercial prep with sugar added, and it also clears the sinuses. It is hot like hot peppers. WHich I also use a lot of.

I keep frozen peppers in the freezer.... lol. Bring out a serano or similar sized , let sit a few mintues, and it slices and chops up easily. Easier than fresh IMO. It is juicier though and lots of the oils get on the fingers so use gloves or wash with couple a couple times.

My son had eczema at about 2. Just thought it was normal as I have it inside area of my elbows, triggered by wool sweathers. ( MUST wear long sleeve shirt under a woolie.) But later I learned it is an allergic reaction.... for my son a food intolerance, propbably the formula milk he was drinking. He doesnt have eczema amymore.

So maybe it is a food or contact with a chemical that is triggering yours.....?

Nope. I’ve been going through this for many many years. I do avoid chemicals because I know that they can make it 10 times worse and trigger it easier. That’s why I make my own cleaning products. Make my own lotions soaps and laundry detergent’s. Doing all that does help keep it calm her than it could be and also helps my beloved dogs dermatitis From overwhelming her. There is definitely different types of eczema. And I have had friends who have allergic eczema

ahhhhhh.

I like that you make your cleaning products. My products are very limited, vinegar for the windows. BLeach occassionally, a bottle lasts forever. I did try to make own laundry detergent, just didnt finish putting it all together. ANd then lost recipe. I havent found a sub for Dawn---do you have a suggestion???
We switched to DOve for bathing at pediatritions suggestion and havent used anything since. Ivory was my favorite and seeing the logo or smelling it brings back wonderful memories. WHat are your thoughts on that product ??

After trying to dig in the orchard, I gave up and looked elsewhere for the 6 Freedom thornless blackberry. Put them along the fence in the vegie garden as digging was much easier. :celebrateOf course the recommend is to detroy all wild canes within a huge area. This is not possible as I could spend weeks just on that as canes move in whereever an area is cleared. THey are first sucession after clearing either by man or a fire.

Will see if these can survive. :love Otherwise only wild types will be here.

Strawberries need a bed. Had grand ideas for these. Will need one of the boys to dig. DOnt know what I was thinking, ordered more strawberry plants. Im such a dreamer!!! :D

The bed of grafted apples lured me back again and again. Found a few gypsey moths, squashed those. They are making terrible holes in my babies' tender leaves. Maybe spinosad is worth using.....

Counted the number that are showing life in the scion, again, had 13 by yesterday evening , still 13 this morning. :loveMaybe as today is another warm overcast day, another scion will feel the need to bud out.

One scion got knocked off...... the tree is still growing so it can be grafted in the future.

Made sure to put in stakes higher than the little trees for the birds to perch on. Still need a bird bath or two.

Brook has dried up. Time to put in a childs wading pool for the ducks.

Every couple days the moisture level around the new transplanted fruit trees are evaluated in case they need watering. The rains are fewer and lighter in May than APril. But seem to be enough to keep the soil moist so far. I expect this to change. Once a week watering is not enough.....once source said to never let the roots dry out so when another source recommends watering a couple times a week the first year while the roots are getting bigger and getting established, I check a couple times a week for moisture level.

Need to get potatos in. One 4 x 4 set up and ready for seed potatos. Otherwise the barrel of blue fingerlins planted some time ago is growing FAST. :weeWeeds and dried leaves are added regullarly. These are a late variety and not worth digging early. Must be patient.

Would like to get another batch of peas going-- apparently the ducks like to trim my peas! :gig

Never could find an alternate for dish soap just gloves and soaking in baking soda first so less use of the soap. But I don’t have a dishwasher but I do have a 16 yr old daughter. Lol. And gloves. Ivory and dove are actually pretty gentle to me eczema I just like the homeade because I can add the ingredients that I know help like tea tree lavender and coconut oil. Tumeric can be helpful for skin irritations and makes a lovely yellow natural dye! Too much and the smell is odd. And as far as making cleaners.... if you have vinegar, baking soda, olive oil and lemon juice you can make almost any cleaner needed. Even have a natural recipe for clogged drains. Works better than draino. I do have a passion for creating though
