what do you use then all the old timers i know always used newspaper when they have hatched baby chicks and they turned out fine? thanks

something with more texture. Paper towels? i just use paper towels the first week or less, as by then they seem able to handle the small shavings and find the food/water.

I use puppy pads for the first week or so. Then pine shavings.

:clap anxious to see how the skylight works out. That's the worst part about my huge metal roof, they don't get enough sun shining in often enough.
