hey all! I am currently incubating two duck eggs. One is not looking promising but the other one should hatch by the end of this week.

Well my duck just laid another egg and I'm thinking about incubating it but if it hatches it will be one month younger than my current one. Will they get along if they are a month apart in age? I don't want to hatch it and them fight a lot but I also don't want my current duckling to be lonely as her sibling might not hatch.

They might not get along at first but they will most likely get along after being around each other for a while. It's better for a duckling to not be alone. All ducks are different though in most cases they get along just fine.

Our ducks were born in March, April, and June. They divide off in brooding groups or by breed mostly. I wouldn’t hatch a single duckling a month apart, but once they are grown they should get along ok. The size discrepancy is large that first 6 weeks. A 6 week old and 1 day old are vastly different sizes and shouldn’t be in a brooder alone together in my opinion.

Okay thank you guys! Was thinking they might get along better if they met earlier on and hadn't grown up being independent. But of course I was worried about the bigger one being a bully
