Saw this first on Facebook where we had just become friends over the summer. So sorry to hear about her loss! I hope her family is able to see this thread so that they may know how many lives she touched over the years.

BTW Opa - I remember that sock darning thing also

It's a good memory.

I got to know Sally back when we were both pretty new here. Oh, the fun we had and the trouble we got into. I think I still hold the record for "Most threads locked in a single day" and few people know of how she egged me on!

She was the first BYC member I "met" over the phone. My world is a sadder place after learning of her passing. I wish I had stayed closer to my BYC friends in this last year. I love you guys.... you know who you are.

In memory of Ranchie I am going to post an old thread of ours....

I just don't know what to say. Sally was and will always be, my best friend. She and I would talk for hours and as Highlander said our husbands would inevitably come home to a messy house because we yakked the day away.

Last April my daughter and Grand kids trekked to SC and spent a couple of days with Sally and Todd, they were so warm and kind, even with three little brats running around. She showed us a grand beach where the kids swam and collected shells, we dined at Boudin's Landing (one of Sally's favorite dives near Folly Beach). And we sat on the front porch drinking beer and enjoying the sunshine, the kids and all life had to offer.

I love you Sally and I will miss you greatly.

I know she will haunt me for eternity for posting her pic on BYC, but here it goes. I will always treasure and remember her as a great friend.

I hope she noticed I did a spell check before posting.......

Chic-N-Farmer said, "and few people knew of how she egged me on." I too got those PM's saying, "Are you going to do something about this?" She had a true spirit of mischief coupled with common sense and high regard for others - qualities that make for a fun, highly respected person. The rooster voodoo juju shall carry on. Ranchie, the 'Broody Magician' will do his best to gift broody hens with male offspring. MFB put it well in his postings. The numbness, emptiness and pain will be replaced by good memories - and Sally provided many. Bye Ranchie.
