Oh Mrs Glassman! I am so pleased your evening yesterday wasn't stressful! Or as stressful as it could have been. Glad to hear from you.

I just got back from work so this is the first time I've been able to read this forum tonight.

it takes 2 or 3 days to come down from a meth high
longer if he is drinking
meth stays in the blood for a week and it stays in the hair follicle for a month
i can guarantee you that he is drinking and smoking pot to come down
some people swear by going to a clinic and getting methadone will help
I have also been around that crap since i was a kid and can spot it a mile away
i promise you when he is coming down from a high you and your family are at risk
as for methadone I really dont believe in it cause it has the side affect of making the person feel high
he needs to find a way to check into a 30 day treatment program
he needs to stay away from sugar
like cookies cakes and stuff like that
if you want me to help you find some help for him you can pm me
but really your not safe with him there
let him get busted and the judge may order it and the state can pay for it
in the mean time hide your valuables

Tonight has been peaceful. DH is asleep in his reclinder, Step son is gone camping with some other boys, step daughter is quietly watching tv, brother is gone to visit friends...and I'm sitting here with a cold glass of milk trying to get sleepy.

Have you ever been so tired that you just couldn't sleep??

for a woman it can stay there for years
when he needs his next high he is in pain if he doesnt get it
thats what makes him dangerous
its painful to be addicted to drugs
really physically painful
bad stomach aches
head aches
teeth pain
vomiting its terrible
most will do what ever they can to get the next hit

ive been so tired that i felt little hairs crawling on my face
been on the road since i was 15 with my band
i still bail my guitarist out of jail if i need him the next day or so
if not i let him sit there and it is always over fighting

And I'm safe. We all are. Like I said, he's not doing anything here. I suspect he may be when he's gone, but I really have no proof. I just know it's a hard thing to get away from, so in the back of my mind I'm thinking it's a real posibility. I don't fool my self.

There is a clinic here in town...they turned him away once. Did you know that it if want to get off drugs, that you have to BE ON THEM when you walk through the door, or they send you home?? It's stupid. He just said, "OK...I'll be back in an hour"

He is gaining a lot of weight since he's been here. He was a rail.

i just learned that it wasnt a raccoon that got my rooster after all
it was my big fat lab
he got my polish out of the coop and was busted with her
we were able to save her but er tail feathers were ripped out

Mrs. glass. It looks like your sugar coating your brothers behavior
unfortunately one that is addicted to drugs especially meth doesn't have the choice to decide the location that they are in when they need their next hit
i have been told from people that I know that were addicted that it feels worse then a bad case of the flu to need that next hit

You're fooling yourself and he's playing you.

The best thing you can do for your brother is let him get busted and go to jail or rehab. You can't save him, you can't help him, and you are not safe so long as he is there. He will steal you blind, his friends will steal you blind. He'll endanger you and your family, all the while begging for your help and understanding.

The only person that can help him is him. No matter how many times you 'save' him, no matter how many nights you lay awake and worry and cry, no matter what you do, it won't change a thing. Let him go and save yourself. Go to NA yourself, for yourself. It will help you let go of him. You need to learn that it's not your fault and it's not your responsibility.

Or you can spend your whole life picking up after him, paying for his mistakes, dragging him home and cleaning him up, pretending that everything's gonna be ok.

Those are your choices. Period. Been there, done that.

I am about to kill my brother's STUPID DOG.

About 2 months ago, he called me up needing help.....
He had gottn into a fist fight with his Landlord's grandson. He was also about 3 months past due on his rent. Needless to say, he was being thrown out.

We show up with the truck & trailer. He had until nightfall to be out, or be shot.

I tell him on the phone to be packing what was most important, leave the rest. I even tell him that he'll have to call animal control to pick up his dogs & cats.

We get there, and begins loading the truck & trailer down, once it gets full, I say time to go...It's getting dark.

He begs to keep one dog, so I say "OK...But you HAVE to keep it put up." (he's already put me in quite the position just asking to live at my house...now he wants to bring a dog.)

I even BUY a chain for the dog.

BUT WHAT DOES HE DO?? He keeps letting it off the chain because, he "just doesn't like to chain animals".

I DON'T GIVE A FLIP. This is MY HOUSE. I work hard for all my things, and I'd like to keep them. He spent all his money on drugs. I'm real sorry if he thinks his mutt would be happier running loose tearing up my things & NOW terrorizing MY ANIMALS.

I can't deal with this crap. He makes as much drawing unemployment as my DH & I do WORKING.

He doesn't pay any money, (even though he agreed to) he doesn't CLEAN or do any house/yard/animal work. All he does is lay up & eat. And now his dog is trying to kill my chickens & rabbits. I know my cages are strong enough, but there is no need in it rushing the cages making them fly into a frightened frenzy.

I hate to kill my own brother's dog. But I will.

Time to throw the brother out. His welcome is over-stayed. Keep the dog.​
