Rat Wont Die!!!!!!!

I have a kennel full of MinPins. King of the German ratters. But I dont have a open kennel to put my pugs in so I could bring some of the minpins inside... Not sure I would have a house left after a night of them in here ether.

Cant do that. If someone came in a saw me patching a 12 gauge hole in the house it would be a fun story for years. If the came in an saw me jumping around the house with a pan beating a rat down I would never live it down.

Well the rat robed my cage traps over an over. It even tried to eat a plastic rat trap... I did finally catch a rat in a big sticky trap tonight... Took 6 rounds from my pellet gun to kill him. Dont think that was "the" rat though. It was a big rat but not as big I don't believe... We shall see....

But the question I have now is..... If it was "the" rat, who do I get to unset my homemade trap?

I was infested with field mice last year. They came in droves and I couldn't kill them fast enough. We are not cat lovers, but we did get 2 cats over the summer to kill off the mice population. Now I don't have a problem with mice this winter.

But last winter, we could only find success with the glue traps. I had them stuck everywhere. I had like 8 of them skattered all over my house on a daily basis, and I was averaging 4-5 mice per day in the glue traps. Put them along the base boards, behind the washer and dryer, behind the night stands, in the pantry, in the cupboards, in the closets, behind the furniture.... etc. Beware... when you get one in the glue trap, they will squeel and fuss loudly. Sometimes another mouse would try to come to the rescue and I'd end up catching 2 on one glue trap. Once though, another mouse was actually eating the stomach out of the mouse stuck in the glue trap.

I did have some of those homemade traps also, but not much success with them. To dislodge them, I would usually just drop a spoon or fork onto them from a safe distance. They do tend to jump up and shoot the spoon back out.

Good luck on your mice hunt.

The brand name is Nooski

Here is the rat version.

Here is the mouse version.

Read the reviews. We imported some of these before they were available in the US. Really good overall value and hey they work every time!

Had to delete the link above cause I am a N00b to this forum. Just go to amazon and search nooski mouse or rat trap

That rat sounds like a "Wharf Rat". They get as big as cats. I find if I keep a couple cats in the house I don't have any issue. I had a friend who caught a wharf rat in a live trap once. They put it in an aquarium and gave it only rat poison to eat. Thing still didn't die. They eventually had to shoot it.

Best go with the second trap and tie a stinge to and tie it to something bigger cause ive hed rats walk off with those trape. Every thing else is insupperior to that trap so if this dosent work guss ull have to go get a 44 magnum and do some hunting.

For rats, I like a #1 1/2 or #2 coil spring trap. Set it with no pan tension, Place the loose jaw leaned against the wall where he is running. Cover the trap with a light cloth or tissue.

You should mix poison into the bait you use. I had a bad rat problem last summer and they were eating all the eggs! Ugh, I hate rats. Kill them!
