Cute!!! Okay, one of those yellow ones has some serious cheeks - like an ameraucana or ee, but I can't see its legs. Check that one's comb to see its shape (single or pea) as it grows. Definitely a red one that looks like my RIR as a chick and barred rocks. I don't know what OE chicks would look like. My guesses...anyone else?

Morning all! Welcome the new comers!

I went to sleep with just a few in here and wake up to a few new hatch-a-longers!

Our are due 7th. Doing my best so far to hold out until Sunday 24th before our first candle. Most usually candle then? I have seen a few get keen and have a peek around day three....which would be today for me. Tempting that for sure.

Pam is fond of day 5, going to take a lot of will power to make it to 7 that's for sure!

Great thanks !! I am real real new at this so it's hard for me!! I hat mostly tan and light brown eggs and one olive color egg when I put them in the bator

Thanks!! And I read up from the beginning of the thread and see you are from Australia ! That's great! And I can't make it to day 7 I just have to candle at day 4 (at least a few)then again at day 7

I also set eggs last Sunday:

74 total (and gee, look, there's room for a few more....) All the white ones are duck; the shiney ones are Muscovy and the matte ones are Welsh Harlequin. The dark speckled ones at the top are from my Welsummer pullet, the blues and greens from my EE and the other browns, some are from a very old Welsummer hen and some from a very old Welsummer crossed to ?leghorn?buttercup? don't know. All the girls are in with my pretty red EE roo whose color resembles a Welsummer. so the brown eggs should by olive eggers and the others more EE.
The chicks should hatch April 7, the Welsh Harlequins April 14 and the 'scovys April 21. I'll be adding some more Harlequin, EE and OE this weekend.
