They're lots of fun and lots of work.

The black steer, Cheeseburger, (another one of my mom's boss' dad's names... lol) was a limi crossed with an angus. Your calf should be great. It's a great cross to get length and "marbling" in the meat. I show sheep also. They're alot of fun. We run them in the mornings during the summer to build up muscle. My lamb didn't do too well this year. He got sick right before the show. His name was Blue. Here's a pic.

He started breaking down really badly in the loin. If I'd have had a few more weeks he'd have looked great.

nice steer. I don't show cattle, but he looks like a very balanced animal that is well muscled and ties in well everywhere. He looks like a higher quality animal, better bone and more muscle than last year's. That last year's one was a WEIRD color!!! (I like it though) Did you save the hide?
