red spot on day 22 egg what is it

ok yes i thought the air cell didnt look as big and i should i did have to high humidity the first few days. i just have the xcellent global mini 7 egg incubator and my hydrometer and extra thermometer died so i was just going by what the incubator said for temp and think it must run on the low side. I had it set on 37.6 so today when i put new eggs in i set the temp up to 38 what do you think

yes the first few days and i had condensation so was told it was to high so ran dry the rest till day 18 i put more water in.

That's a cute little incubator!! (the eggs look huge in it) And yes, that first pic is definitely too moist. But its a learning process, and unfortunately we have to use trial and error to figure things out.

Now let me ask a couple more questions.... does the temperature display stay on the same temp all the time, or does it fluctuate as the heater kicks on and off? Does it have a fan and does it turn the eggs for you? (I'm trying to guess if 38 is going to be good or not)

thats what im wondering not sure if it needs higher then that or what. yes it has a fan. im gonna do dry thanks for the picture that will help. no it dont stay on that temp the whole time it goes down and up as the heater kicks on and off.

I'm guessing it has the same Chinese controller that mine has. That's why I asked. Ok, if it goes up and down, then I would set it at 37.8 to start. Then watch it and see what it goes up to. If that's as high as it ever goes, but still goes down, then bump it up to 38.0. Basically, you want the average up and down to be 37.5-37.6 overall, but never too hot. It will probably dip to 36 something. I think mine dips to 36.6. 38.0, 38.1, 38.2 should get you there. And since it has a fan, I wouldn't go any higher than that. Mine is currently set on 38.1, and my external thermometers inside will read 99-100 all day. Main thing though, is to keep a check on those air cells, at least at day 7 & 14. If they are too big by day 7, you can always add a little water.
