I’m new to chickens and especially breeding them. I bought straight run Red Stars... like I said, I’m new....😂 If I were to breed the rooster, how would he breed out? Also, if I were going to process him, what age is best? I’ve also NEVER processed a chicken before!😬

If butchered over 14 weeks of age slow roasting is best.

It's a hybrid sex link. This means it is a cross between two breeds for easy identification of sex by down color at hatch. This trait does not breed true, it's a one time result of parent cross.

You can use him to propagate birds. Onto themselves you'll get all sorts of results as to color and pattern. They don't breed true as they are not a breed but there is nothing wrong with propagating them for layers and extra cockerels to eat.
