Sometimes a bird drinks too much, especially if it's warm out.
Iv'e got a couple that "ralph" regularly especially in summer. They are the ones that get greedy at the water bowl.
As long as bird is otherwise fine, eating/drinking/pooping/moving around OK....Is this something serious? Is it going to cause them to die?
It can if they can't eat. Occasionally a bird will belch out water. If it's happening repeatedly, than it usually means there's a problem. Sometimes a bird drinks too much, especially if it's warm out.Is this something serious? Is it going to cause them to die?
Those that I have seen, nothing helped long term. You could try gently massaging the crop in case there's a bit of blockage. Be careful you don't force liquid out that the bird can aspirate and choke.Thank you for your quick response. Do I need to do anything?
Why would a bird be wearing shorts?Yeppers, greedy guzzlers!
It's especially unpleasant when it happens asyou pick up the bird wearing shorts and it hits your bare legs/feet.
