Hi there. We need to rehome our two hens, a buff orpington and a black star. The buff, Georgie, is sweet and will sit with you-this is her second winter. The star, Cher, is timid around people but will chase off the squirrels that get too close to her scratch. They are both healthy layers. We've been feeding them Purina organic crumble for layers and a scratch that we buy from Curve Feed in Denver. Supplement with oyster shells. We also give them treats occasionally like shredded carrot and sweet potato or salad greens that are getting a bit wilted. They are currently housed in a 10' x 16' enclosure open to the environment with a coup in one corner that they sleep in at night. After work and on the weekends when the weather is nice we let them out and they run around hunting worms and whatnot in the back yard. Anyway, it's time for them to move to a new home, maybe one with more space--neighbors that aren't so close. I don't mind delivering them if the distance is within reason. Let me know.
