I live in Jacksonville Florida and can’t seem to find a suitable home or rescue facility near me for a disabled duckling. She is blind in one eye and was born this way. She slowly started keeping her neck bent in the direction of the eye she favors so it affects her coordination but other than that she’s good. She used to have a single sibling that was also disabled but he has sadly passed away leaving her alone. She’s super sweet but is lonely.. If anyone has tips on what to do please help!

Although I take in ducklings to rehab and release or rehome, I cannot take this one as I cannot keep a disabled female duck with my all male flock. I have recently taken a disabled pekin drake. It's not the disability that is the problem, it's the sex. That little one cannot be released it has to go to someone with a female flock who can care for it.

The other reason that I cannot have my arm twisted into taking it, is that I am in Northern Virginia for the foreseeable future on a family matter. The logistics of getting here with 6 drakes and 2 pups are enormous and I had to travel over the very stormy days along the I-95 corridor last week. LOL, I got some strange looks when I stopped in the rest areas to offer fluids to the boys!
