DW was shopping around online for a new laptop, ours died awhile ago. I insisted on having one with a cd/dvd burner. None have them now unless you buy the expensive laptops. They do have external ones you can add.
Hmm, I told her probably cause no one bothers with cds or dvds anymore, everything's on they're phones now. Listen to music all day with your phone and Bluetooth.
Kids today don't know how easy they got it.

And attempting to splice the tape after it got ate with a piece of tape :lau

I remember my parents had some sort of holders on the walls for kerosene lamps in a couple rooms, nothing as fancy as that. Candle holders in other rooms. Gravity feed spring water and a woodstove. Power outages didn't affect us much :D
These things are hard to find, especially with the part that attaches to the wall.

Ever had a kid pull the tape out of some and wind it all around their room? It reminded me of that I Love Lucy episode where she became an airline stewardess.

Nope but I remember many times seeing hundred yrd trails of the stuff following cars, or the stuff blowing in the wind wrapped up around guard rails. Maybe it's a good thing nobody uses them anymore, bet the tape ended up in many birdsnests back then.

I've still got all mine. I made a start at transferring them into the computer, but I haven't got very far.
I still have some. And stacks of records and 8tracks.
Still have one of these somewhere also Lol!

We had to use one on the school bus also if we didn't bring a 8track, driver let us listen to whatever. I remember bringing AC/DCs dirty deeds 8track when I was in elementary, the big balls song got everyone laughing, even the big kids thought I was cool! My parents had wide musical tastes. I had from Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, to Allman Brothers, Pink Floyd, to Black Sabbath, David Bowie, Styx, Pat Benetar, Fleetwood Mac, Cheap Trick, about everything lol!
And I still have all their original records and 8tracks. Got lucky and stopped by one day as mom was having a yard sale, stacks of them for quarter a piece. I snagged the whole lot for free!

I was recently using a cassette adapter plugged into my fancy shmancy phone headphone jack played in a old radio (with a screwdriver jammed into the play button cause the tape would bind up a little sometimes and make the play button pop up and stop) in my garage to listen to iheartradio. Before that a little mp3 player the size of a lighter I downloaded tunes on plugged into the adapter. New technology meets the old lol.
DW bought me a small rechargeable Bluetooth speaker for Christmas this yr so it's finally retired.

Wonder what they'll come out with next!??

When I first saw the cassette tape I was going to mention 8-tracks. Oh yea, the big ker-clunk in the middle of a song. :lau
my first car had a cassette player but dad's at the time had an 8-track.

I still have boxes and boxes of albums and records. Have an old phonograph to play them on too.
