Announcement Remembering Sumi

Pics
Maybe you and X can both shave your heads and be twins for a little while.
Of COURSE you are! And OF COURSE you will be! Did you know that there's a Cancer Awareness store online? I'm not trying to get anyone to buy anything, but if you check out the reviews, there's a pic of a fella named "David M." wearing a gray brain cancer hoodie. That's my awesome "little brother!" It CAN be done ... it IS being done ... and YOU can DO it!!

Hope your are doing well today, Sumi! A lot of times the hair comes back a different color after treatment. Might be something to look forward to :hugs
A friend of mine beat the living daylights out of breast cancer many years back ... and her long, mousy-brown hair came back dark auburn and CURLY. It's GORGEOUS!

Awe, that's lovely, MROO! I had a friend in elementary school that had leukemia. Started with strawberry blonde, came back cancer-free with dark brown! Such an odd thing, isn't it?

:wootI love the way you described your first day home. What precious moments you have now, and more to come. Hey..I used to have hair down to my butt, started cutting it shorter and shorter as I got older. I'm old enough now I can say that I'm too old for long blonde hair. 😄. But that's me. Beanies ey? Love that idea!

Well I feel like a total asshat. (Don't you dare yell at me, Nifty! I'm just as good at breaking rules for important causes as you are!) I have been off BYC for the last 6 months, fighting some medical battles of my own here, but they are nothing in comparison to this! I had no clue this was going on until I had time today to snoop through a lot of posts that I'd missed, and doggone it, this was one! And here I was, pestering Sumi in her capacity as Admin over on the BYC FB site for the last couple of days. I haven't donated (is that still going so I can, I hope?), I haven't sent any sweet messages, and I haven't been offering prayers to the Good Lord, either.

Sumi, when our Rachel (Donrae) relapsed and was in the hospital, she always seemed to be cheered by the photos I'd taken of some of the hummingbirds we have. She said they gave her a feeling of "peace with energy". When she was put into Hospice, I sent her an 8X10 print of her favorite, and although her vision was gone Mr. Donrae said she loved it....she knew which one it was! So allow me to send you the same photo, and hope that it makes you smile the way it did Rachel. (Oh, and forget the stoopid video! Who cares?)
