This rattles me !!!! My wife of 45 years has terminal cancer what am I going to do without her?
Love her a lot. Laugh with her a lot. And yes, cry with her, too. Share your stories. Record them for the next generations, even the rough ones. They'll be inspiration for those who swear that the kind of partnership you have doesn't exist, today. And remember to count and recount your blessings - together and on your own. Not everyone gets to share 45 years with their partner. I know it doesn't seem long enough for either of you, at the moment, but I would give a lot to have been able to spend that much time with someone who loved me and I, them. That's not "sour grapes" on my part, but a grateful, loving sigh for you and your wife. You will both be in my prayers.

God bless you. My husband has Alzheimer's. I am watching what they call the slow goodbye. The slow death. No matter how they go, it's tough! I have been taking a lot of photos. I take him where he enjoys being. Feeding ducks and geese at a pond! If your wife is able, take her to where she enjoys being. Get those photos of her beautiful smile. Hold her hand, often. Keep those memories going by doing things with her now. Good luck on this new journey. Prayers for you.

I barely met her when I first came here. The quote on her profile is one of my favorite poems ever. I knew I could really like her.
