@FortCluck oh man I'm so sorry :(. That's exactly why I always recommend people only use dead (whether f/t or fresh-killed) or stunned prey with their reptiles. I know some people are all about the 'mental stimulation' from having to actively hunt prey, but there's plenty of ways to provide enrichment for a snake without putting it in physical danger.

@KDOGG331 No actually he's a senior citizen! Noodle's 15 years old, he's my oldest pet. He's just a small male cornsnake who can't take larger prey :).
My snake was really aggressive too from having live mice. I don't even do live bugs for my beardie. He loves his freeze dried soldierworms and veggies/fruit.

I never realized that! But makes sense. But they’re so small I never figured it would be a problem. I figured maybe rats but not mice. Unless maybe the cuts and scratches could get infected?
Their teeth are insanely sharp! Ask my beagle she's been bit by field nice she kills in the house. They come in when we get lots of rain. She hunts them better than our indoor cat lol

It's also illegal in Australia to feed live mice and rats to snakes.

Huh, interesting. I know here, the pet stores usually try to discourage live feeding now. Even just in the last like 5, 10 years there’s been a big switch. They used to sell tons of feeders and also rats and never have any colored ones, only white/albino with the red eyes, and now most don’t carry rats and a lot of the mice are colorful now and they try to sell them more as pets rather than feeders now.
