Reptile Photos! **DUW**

I love the Tegu! We saw some today at the reptile show and they are adorable! I didn't realize they got that big though!

My room mate and I just got home from the reptile show! We had so much fun. It was a very small show, but I did find my crested gecko! They were quite a few of them there, but most were really expensive. There were a few beautiful ones for $300! There were some other really nice adults and older juveniles, but I decided to go with a little $35 dalmation. I was told he/she is about three months old and he is just adorable! I just set up the tank and put him in, so I don't have pictures yet. I'm hoping to get some when he's settled in a bit. My only worry is that he won't find the food I mixed up for him. I put in in a water bottle cap.

I'm so excited to start handling him and watching him grow! That's sort of why I wanted a baby too. I think it's more fun to watch them get older!

Great pictures of your tegu! What a beaut!

This is an updated pic of Amber (leopard gecko) after we've had her for 1 month. Caught her as she was getting ready to climb into her favorite sleeping spot.

I can't believe it, but I gave in and let my DS get a Rosy Boa tonight. The snake is pretty cool. Just not looking forward to the feeding part. Just creeps me out. Will have to get pics to post tomorrow.

Gypsy, I think that's amazing too! Im glad there are plenty of us here that love herps too!

That tegu is GORGEOUS! And huge, wow! I want one now!

Beautiful little leo too!

And Froggie, Im glad you let him get one! They're really beautiful snakes. Feeding was hard for me the first time, but after that I was fine with it. It gets easier, for sure. I cant wait to see a picture.

Ok here are a couple pics of the new Rosy. DS is still trying to come up with a name. I thought Libra would be kind of cool as DS is a Libra and Libra's symbol is scales, snakes have scales..... but DS hasn't warmed up to that idea.
Oh and does anyone have any experience with Rosy Boas? The pet store said they eat pinkies, but on doing some research on the internet one site stated that because of their size they prefer crickets and meal worms. Anyone know?

One of the easiest most fool proof boas going.
I wouldnt feed exclusivly pinkies but vary the diet with meal worms and crickets.
make sure there are some hidy spots for it, they like to hide a lot.

One thing I want to make clear, meal worms should be snipped before feeding or taken out imediately after the snake or arachnid is done feeding.
I learned the hard way what a meal worm will do to an arachnid that doesnt move around a lot and it isnt a pretty sight.
I have not fed meal worms to anything other than water turtles since. and even then I prefer to buy freeze dried. less mess no smell easy clean up if they do not consume them all.
