That's what they think brought down the red tail I took to rehab.
That's actually a good thing, as they bounce back pretty well. In Frightful's case it required a LOT of mice....

As I was reading the thread I was thinking how he probably was spent of energy after the trauma of it all, needing rest, hydration.....

He is beautiful, and I am so glad he is going to be ok. I love owls. We have barn owls and screech owls here but I don't think GH. Had one that sat in our fencerow just East of our house years ago and he/she hooted from 2 am until dawn. I didn't think quite as much of him at THAT time, but wouldn't have anything bad happen to him either. So glad you took the extra time and trouble to get him taken care of!!
 
What lovely birds, they are such graceful movers too.

We have only tawny owls and barn owls here which do not trouble chickens, just maintain a screeching match on summer evenings.
