"rescued' yet another one... (graphic pictures)

I had to leave her in the care of my Mom for the holidays. I went on a small vacation for a few days. I got back yesterday and Hope was NOT happy with me. She is doing well, but I really dont think her feathers are growing in as fast as I would like. She is still my girl. I will get some updated photos for you all to see tonight.

She looks so much better! So glad you saved this girl.
Me too! It takes someone special to take in needy chickens! My little Crooked Lip is a special needs and she is the friendliest chicken I have! When I go in the pen to feed or water them she crawls on my foot and looks up at me and continuously chirps! It's so adorable!

OMG, the difference between Rescue Day and today is fantabulous!

I wanted to say the couple of gals in my flock who sported aprons (sounds nicer than "saddles") grew their feathers back underneath 'em. One SLW wore hers for four months, constantly. (well, I changed it for a different one when laundering it)

Roosters could still claim their goddess-given rights to take advantage of the all-too-willing to squat. (hussies! Hussies, I tell ya! And the reason why those two hens needed aprons in the first place!)

Feather growth was unimpeded.

Hope probably needs a jumper more than a jacket. <*grin*>

she is a beautiful girl! my guess, she looks like donna, my RIR, those dark mahogany feathers- and yes, my girls leave their aprons on till the feathers have grow in

i think hope is telling them all how wonderful it is that the queen of food ladies found her!
