"rescued' yet another one... (graphic pictures)

I'm so sorry to hear about MayMay! I love the story unfolding about Hope ..... what a cutie. I would love to see her in her jammies. The video with her dust bathing was precious ......... she looks very happy. I can't wait to see how she progresses ...... the before and after photo's will be priceless.

Last night Midge my rock wanted over to Hopes side really bad, so i let her over with Hope. They did really well together. Midge almost didnt even seem to care about Hope at all. It was cool. I let Hope over to the big side while everyone was roosting and doing their nightly chating and she hopped up on the roost and actually looked my big girl in the face like 'YOU! get OUTTA my way I am coming through!" Kassidy hopped down super fast like 'YES MAAM!" and let Hope through. I almost fell over laughing. She strutted up the poop board and barged right through. Even moved my big Cochins out of the way. She and 'Bird looked at each other and he just sat down and ignored her. My #1 hen pecked at Hope and then Hope backed off and moved.

It was so funny seeing her just plow right through everyone with this attitude. She still spent the night in her own side. what a hoot she is.

Just went to Bees blog and printed it out. Sounds wonderful! Think I will start some tonight. Anything I can do to help with the health of my girls is worth a try!

Wondering, will the bare patches grow back when she molts or will they come in gradually over the next few weeks?

I guess we can always hope she is going threw a molt right now,( a really bad one from the stress and mites) and her feathers will start growing in soon. It will be so nice to see her fully feathered with a beautiful shiny healthy glow.

Oh Fishnet, wow. The conditions you found her, the timing with the loss of MayMay...

Just want to let you know I'm following....transfixed.

Our little RIR is the darling of our flock, loved by the Roos, by my kids and I, fiesty personality too. Hope and our Rosey could be the very same bird + or - a few feathers. I'm vested in your story already.

Such a sad story but glad you found her. She looks like a RIR but she could be a Partridge Rock as well. Its hard to see if she has any barring on her feathers or not.

Here is a pic of 3 of my hens and you can see their barring.
