Rescuing x2 warren hens from caged egg production industry.

Hi all!

I need you advice. I currently have 5 pekin banthams. I have room in my coop for a few more hens. I’ve been toying whether to get chicks or fertile eggs to increase my flock. I recently came across an article to rescues some hens. I signed up to the charity and put in a request to rehome two hens from this horrific industry. They have advised me the hens won’t have and feathers and will need care. They won’t be with me until early November. I have my medicine cupboard stocked and have made an extra coop for them while they build their strength. I’m worried about the lack of feathers in the cold months? Can anyone recommend anything I can do to keep them warm? All advice welcome!

Hello! I would set up a draft free space for them in the run, offer high quality feed and since enrichment, like iceberg lettuce or some watermelon rind to get into. Let their chicken genes kick in.
