Is there a book recommendation for someone who is trying to raise their chickens as natural and organic as possible? I'm not going to get certified just doing eggs myself.
Not that I know of... I just try to familiarize myself with what it takes to garden or raise egg layers organically, and then stick to it as much as reasonably possible. For me, "organic enough" is certainly good enough for me.
Look at the FARAD.org website, at least, for resources and direction. And the USDA site for organic regs. Actually doing organic to official standards is hard, but if you aren't interested in seeking certification, use the requirements as guidance.
