Rhode Island green might be a Roo?

Holding them often does not make them friendly.

Nastiest rooster I ever had was raised to about 6 months by two young girls. They carried him around everywhere. Constantly cuddled and held him. Once his hormones kicked in he turned into the smallest monster you've ever seen. I have scars from him.

I agree that cuddling doesn't necessarily help. It does depend on the bird as well.
I've always cuddled my lads, but then I got lucky with them.
I did have a mean boy, and holding him didn't really help. My broody raised him as a chick and I was always holding them.
He grew up to be very pecky.
He flew at my face one day when I wasn't expecting it.

Oh good! Do you have any pictures of your new girl? :)

Of course I do! Haha She is an 8/10 week old welsummer/black ostralop mix!

I'm having a hard time introducing her to the other four hens I have. All but one of them want to chase her :-( they are about 16 weeks old and she is between 8 and 10 weeks. I have them separated for now.
