Ribh's D'Coopage

Yikes. So glad we don't have raccoons, bears, their horrid worms, or rabies in Australia. We've got enough on our hands with all the dropbears.

What about your plentiful weasel populations? ;) @Butterscotchbitesfinger  Though, you do have a ton more elapids to worry about down there. So beautiful, so scary... and those spiders (ick!!!)

They really seem excited for the lettuce! :wee
My girls turn up their beaks at greens :( except for fresh grass.
I wonder what I'm doing wrong?:hit

My girls only seem to like their grass and forage, but the Farm chickens, (all my little rescues) like kale and cabbage, but won’t touch lettuce... I suppose the chickens know what they need best, and so long as they aren’t gorging on treats they’re probably getting everything they need.

Yep. Thursday we start laying sandstone so I am resting up...;)

Rest up well! And remember to hydrate and take plenty of breaks. Sleep is a wonderful thing... I finally think I’ve caught up from my hatching sleep deprivation. I’ve been sleeping through all the ferry rides for vet trips (to the snoring fairly loudly point according to my mother) and after the last chicks were transferred into the small brooder I proceeded to take a 5 hr long (9am) nap yesterday. My sleep schedule hasn’t been this wonky since working full graveyard shifts for inventory counting! I do appreciate a good nights rest after a day of hard work, physically taxing things helps me sleep better 98% of the time!

I work on the principle,: a snake I can @ least see! I grew up in funnelweb country & those suckers are nasty, nasty, nasty & really good @ hiding places you don't want them.

My father, a farm boy from way back, always said chooks need greens in their diet: grass or cabbage or lettuce. If they get grass they probably don't hanker for anything else & knowing how I feel about grass...:gig

Sleep is a wonderful thing.
It is. A good night's sleep is a blessing.

I always try to get in some outdoor time for that reason but our unseasonably wet winter is not helping in that department. I can do wet or I can do cold. Both I cannot do!:(

We have a light sea mist this morning creating haze & diffusing all the light. First egg already in the nest when I went out to check on my girls & my boys are out on the water. I heard my crabber go through about 3amish & his brother tiptoe downstairs to join him. Cold out, so colder on the water.Just now it's just me & the cats cosied up with blankets & coffee. :)

Apart from an hour in the mornings they'll be cooped up every day. Safe but sad/cranky.

Better safe than sorry. Mine have been confined more recently too. They are not allowed in the big run unless I'm home because I have those 3 escapees... Doesn't stop them commenting on the unfairness of it all & as soon as I appear the appeals start!:lau

Jeannie that's still a beautiful view.
I love our view. Sorry to be a bore with it but it is so lovely I really enjoy sharing as it is always changing & always beautiful. Kris has a stunner too but she has better self control! ;)
