Ribh's D'Coopage

What? She is a Leghorn?? I thought Leghorn was a breed I had learned to recognize because of @BY Bob's Greatest Hen Ever. They are white with big floppy combs and sort of lanky bodies.
Your Hen-Rietta is beautiful but looks more like one of my Legbars.
I am 100% sure you know what you are talking about, which means I haven't actually learned any chicken breeds after all!
:th
I thought leghorns only came in white too RC. Then someone here mentioned brown ones which blew my mind.🤯

As for the lanky body, well....

Leghorns are such amazing chickens that they come in many colors. White, like my Daisy, the greatest hen ever, Brown like @featherhead007 Hen-Rietta (browns can be either dark or light brown), and other colors include, Buff, Black, Silver, Red, Lavender, Black Tailed Red, and Columbian. While they typically have large floppy combs they also can have rose combs.
Goodness Bob! My mind is blown again! 🤯
When there is so much variation in a breed when do they become a different breed?
🐣🐤🐓🦃?

Feather color does not change the breed characteristics. Size, shape, egg production, etc. all remain consistent no matter the Feather color. I find it interesting that there are rose comb leghorns. It is the second or third breed that I know of where different combs are acceptable.

RC you are a pure breed too! yep, lot's to learn about chicken breeds.:hugs Love to you this Christmas, and always!
Thank you for the good wishes and to you too, but me? I am definitely a Bitsa!

And this marks the point at which I am officially giving up any attempt to understand chicken breeds. I thought 'color' was part of how to tell them apart! :th :th
