Fat Bird and Moon.
Now here's a thing. Fat Bird and Moon seem to get along really well. The rest, well the just accept Fat Bird is senior and mind their manners. Mel, while second in command isn't friendly with Fat Bird as such. There is no problem between them but they don't hang around together much. Moon and Fat Bird do.
I think I mentioned in the past the Moon lays the darkest eggs. They were almost Marans dark brown for a while. They are now a shade lighter but still darker then any of the others. So, I'm guessing that despite being white, Moon has more Marans in her or its more obvious than any of the others and Fat Bird knows this and so does Moon.
Moon is quite large now and if you ignore her colour she has more Marans charactaristics than the others.
It's very interesting.

Josh was back to the surgeon today. His new x-rays showed 1 pin in his RT leg had moved and needed to be removed. The doctor gave him a local and removed the pin in the office and glued the spot shut. He has a clean bill of health and has officially been released!

Today's X-ray showing the pin sticking out past his joint.

The shorter pin is still secure, so it was left alone.

This is his before x-ray.

That is indeed very interesting ~ & especially that Fat Bird & Moon seem to know this themselves.

He is such a beautiful cat! 🥰 I'm glad he has a clean bill of health & can get securely attached to you all now.

That's fascinating. I wonder how often it's been observed among other flocks.

Most of you know I'm on babysitting duties Mondays & Fridays, which is why I am so conspicuously absent from BYC on those days. At 2 & 4 their attention span isn't the greatest but if we have things to do their behaviour stays within fairly acceptable limits. At present I am working my way through my limited storage of simple science experiments. None of us understand the science but they are fun to do.

Yesterdays was *Tornado in a jar* & *teabag rockets.*

I'm pretty good @ the arty stuff but as they are also in day care they do plenty of that but if any of you have brilliant ideas that have worked with your munchkins please post. We have all of winter to get through yet.🙄

Good work on the science mate!

If you've got some tarnished silver or silver plate, put some alfoil in a bowl, put the silver on top of the alfoil, pour in just boiled water and add 2 tablespoons or more of bicarb soda.

Watch the fizzing that takes the tarnish from the silver to the alfoil.

When it's finished, rinse off the clean silver and show the kids the tarnished alfoil.

Don't put hands in the hot water!
